The National Black Theatre Festival is a massive biennial event, featuring more than 30 mainstage productions, poetry jams, play readings, films, workshops and an international academic gathering. The event annually attracts more than 60,000 attendees and contributes millions of dollars into the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County economies.

The Communication Challenge
In 2019, the North Carolina Black Repertory Company (NCBRC) celebrated a 40-year anniversary. That same year, the National Black Theatre Festival (NBTF) celebrated a 30-year anniversary. Thus, a key objective was to create one logo that communicated two congruent anniversaries.
While events featured African American artistic endeavors, the audience was diversified in ethnicity, age, gender and more. Marketing materials needed to appeal to a wide range of sponsors and participants and reflect the high quality of productions.
The National Black Theatre Festival required print marketing collateral to increase sponsorship sales and pre-ticket sales. Once the festival was in swing, the company provided visitors with programs during productions and commemorative items for purchase.
NCBRC first requested graphic design for a PowerPoint presentation for potential sponsors. Next, they required design and planning for a multi-page brochure to help ticket-buyers easily plan their visit and navigate the vast schedule of events. Creative Force was also tasked with graphic design to support events throughout the festival, including more than 30 playbills, souvenir journals, gala ticket and more.
