Marie Sharp’s Fine Foods, Ltd. has been making pepper sauces since 1981 at Melinda Estates, Stann Creek Valley, Belize, Central America. Farm-to-bottle freshness with a sharp focus on flavor are hallmarks of Marie’s products which are distributed worldwide.
The Marketing Challenge
As the number one habanero hot sauce in the world, Marie Sharp’s enjoys significant market share in several countries. United States market presence has been minimal, and Marie Sharp’s USA is intent on commanding the competitive hot sauce space by increasing online sales.
Marie Sharp’s USA approached Creative Force for a strategy and creative direction that would enhance the customer experience. The first step was to turn current customers into supporters and advocates for the brand. Creative Force suggested creating a fan club that loyal customers could join to make them feel more connected to the brand. Next we designed a set of surprises for each shipment: a handwritten thank you card, directions for a social media engagement contest, and a series of collectible stickers. We also designed a multi-purchase gift box to boost sales volume. Finally, we created an ad to announce a contest to win one of 24 trips to Belize by competing in the Pepperheadz 2021 Tournament.
